Dear [candidate],

I am [Hairdresser name/the owner of Salon name] in your constituency and employ [number of] staff. I am also a member of the Hair Council, the Industry body for hairdressers and barbers.

I am emailing to ask whether you will commit to supporting hairdressers and barbers in [Constituency name].

In the UK, the hair and beauty industry employs over 300,000 people with an annual turnover of 6.2 billion pounds. Hairdressers and barbers play a vital role on our local high streets and it's important that politicians work hard to support them to remain financially viable.

The Hair Council is campaigning for the Government to introduce State Registration for all hairdressers and barbers. State Registration is a professional benchmark of quality and would ensure that hairdressers and barbers are qualified to industry standards in order to operate. In the Hair Council's view, this is absolutely essential to ensure that the industry achieves its rightful place as a high status, high rewards industry.

If you are elected on 8th June, it would be fantastic if you would be willing to attend the next meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Hair Industry.

I would be grateful if you would please let me know if you are willing to commit your support for hairdressers and barbers in our area? We would also be happy to arrange a campaign visit to our salon or a quick coffee if you'd be interested?

Best wishes,

[Your name]
