It’s official. Skin testing with Colourstart makes salons more professional.
If you’ve ever questioned the importance of skin testing, a recent survey* by Colourstart, the holy grail in skin testing, has shown that clients most definitely do value a professional skin test.
Results have shown that clients are more confident when having a Colourstart skin test and their opinion of their salon is more professional for doing so.
Colourstart is the only professional allergy screening that is clinically proven to test for allergy to hair colour to be licenced by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). It is a universal patch test for use across all colour brands and allows for complete colour freedom as it tests against PPD, not just one specific colour.
Key data from the survey shows that:96% thought Colourstart was easy to use.
97% felt confident colouring their hair having used Colourstart.
75% of clients thought their salon was more professional for using Colourstart.
Colourstart can be ordered by clients online at colourscreen.me or direct from their salon. They carry out the test at home, which should be left for 2 days, and any reaction recorded 2 days after removal. Redness, itching or inflammation indicates allergy to PPD and colouring is not recommended.
Clients record the whole process using the free, fully auditable Colourstart Passport App. There is no need to test again/each time you colour, clients just need to complete a simple questionnaire and assuming nothing has changed, they are good to colour again.
One of the major plus points of using Colourstart is that it has its own Vendors Extension insurance policy, which means clients are always fully insured when using Colourstart.
