Carnoustie Golf Links Charity Golf Day

Carnoustie Golf Links
Charity Golf Day
Monday 23rd May 2022

Huge thanks to supporters of our past golfing events, hosted by former Committee member and past President, Peter Belcher who sadly passed away last year after a short illness. Our love and best wishes remain with his family. Peter was passionate about our industry and personally raised thousands of pounds for the Charity through his golf days, for which we will always be grateful.

In 2020, Peter booked his annual golf event to take place at one of the World’s most famous and prestigious golf clubs, Carnoustie Golf Links … and then the pandemic struck! The event was postponed originally until 2021, and then again on to 2022.

Rated in the top-3 link courses globally, and one of the ten oldest clubs in the world – CarnoustieGolf Links is an iconic, world-leading golf destination in Scotland and home to ‘Golf’s GreatestTest’. Golf has been played at the Links since the 16th century and it was Carnoustie natives whowent on to establish the Professional Golfer’s Associations of America and Australia.

On the day, we invite you to join us to play The Burnside Course which includes the infamous 17thhole, considered one of the hardest par fours in golf!! The Burnside oozes character and from theback tees is a splendid test of golf. It was on this course in 1953 where the great Ben Hogan shot 70 in order to qualify for the Open Championship, which he subsequently won.

We want this year’s event to be a huge success, in celebration and rememberance of Peter and his fantastic career. Josh Miller, Joint Managing Director of Charlie Miller and family friend of the Belcher’s, has valiantly stepped in and offered to host the day on our behalf, and we know that he is going to smash it. Josh and his team mates have previously attended our Charity golf days on numerous occasions, and so he is perfectly placed to run the event.

Josh will be supported by co-host Paul Brooks, National Sales Manager for Alan Howard, who is an active member of our Charity committee. Following Peter’s passing, Paul also kindly offered his support to ensure the event still takes place, in Peter’s honour.

Incredibly – participation and sponsorship rates for the event remain fixed at 2019 prices – so get your booking forms in quickly to make sure you don’t miss out on this fabulous opportunity.

We know this is going to be an amazing day for all that attend, with the bonus feelgood factor of raising money for fellow industry professionals facing financial hardship and crisis.

We ALL look forward to welcoming you.
